Impact of New Trigger Menu on Higgs searches

A first look to the the impact of the new trigger menu on the different Higgs searches channels is reported blow. The analysis corresponding to green rows are unaffected by the new menu. Yellow rows corresponds to analyses where a very slight degradation is expected. Red rows are analyses that are strongly affected by the new trigger menu (these are mainly channels without isolated leptons where we relay on multijets, tau, missing Et).
We have launched a certain amount of trigger studies with a twofold goals: Of course we are still in favor of the inclusive trigger approach but it could be useful to propose some backup exclusive (low rate) triggers that could be in case (for example) the bkg would impose some increase in inclusive thresholds or just to improve the sensitivity of some HOT observed channels (2-sigma fluctuations).
A particular interesting subject is the Forward Jet trigger that is relevant for all the vector-boson-fusion channels. Most of the more exclusive trigger could be based on a combination of this trigger with other signature. It is important to pursue studies on this subject.
Most of these studies will probably be ready be the ATHENS physics workshop.
