The aim of the group can summarised shortly into two main goals:
To determine the optimum performance of the ATLAS detector w.r.t. muon
detection via MC-simulations by combining all available subdetectors. This
includes development of appropriate software tools
To evaluate the impact of this performance on the Physics that ATLAS
can access.
