Tile Calorimeter MC Simulation: Calibration Setup
This page describes the
respective MC simulation code of the calibration setup (a la 2000
and 2001 testbeam setup ) and the available ntuples.
Simulation Code
The code is available
in both the batch (Dice) and the interactive version (atlsim). To install
it, run the script
~davidek/public/tbsim/til0sim
Since the Dice code development
for HP_UX already stopped, the batch version is available only for
Linux. See the ReadMe for more details.
Available Ntuples
The data are stored in
the CASTOR area
/castor/cern.ch/user/t/tilecal/testbeam-mc
You can list the files
using the nsls command and copy them via standard rfcp command.
Here it follows the list of available simulation ntuples:

Beams
a la August 2000: the simulated beam parameters
are set to match as close as possible the real beam profile seen in the
August 2000 data. The photostatistics was set in the conservative way Npe=40
p.e./GeV, the response of individual sub-cells is
not yet weighted according to the Cs data (see ReadMe
for more details):

180
GeV muons at -90 deg:
-
entering production barrel
module in the tile centres 1-11 (files mu180-th90-tXX.n, where
XX is the tile number)
-
entering the extended
barrel module (first ANL, i.e. from the positive z side) at the tile centres
1-11 (files mu180-th90-XXanl.n)
Files are located in the
/castor/cern.ch/user/t/tilecal/testbeam-mc/2000/muons subdirectory.

Beams
a la July and August 2001: the simulated beam
parameters are set to match the respective beam profiles seen in the respective
data. The photostatistics is set for all production modules according to
the latest results Npe=53 p.e./GeV, for barrel module 0 it is kept
at Npe=40 p.e./GeV. The response in individual barrel
module sub-cells is weighted according the the Cs-source data in the second
and third sampling (not available for the first sampling yet):

at -90 deg: Positrons/electrons entering the
production barrel module in the tile centres 2,5,8,10 are available in
