      Characteristics: Rods used to hold the scintillating tiles are made of stainless steel (not magnetic), with 8 mm OD and 5800 mm of length. They have important mechanical properties: Tensile strength of 1200 MPa and a Yield strength of 1000MPa.

      Quantity: 7864 m ; 2118 rods  in total including 5% spares
           Barrel : 4230 m  ; 750 rods  ( 11 x 5.636 m x 65 mod.  + 5% spares)
           Each EB: 411 m  ; 137 rods  (   2 x 2.903 m x 65 mod.  + 5%)

      Procurement/Delivery schedule: Procurement in batches, according to module instrumentation schedule. Each assembly plan provides their needs. Common procurement can be organised.

      CERN has already ordered a first batch for all Barrel and the date of delivery is 1st October 99.
