How to get
the permission to work at Point 1 ?
1)
ATLAS Experimental areas access rights and associated
safety courses
To start working in the ATLAS experimental areas at Point 1, you shall
first ask the necessary access rights (validation through EDH)
2) Magnetic field
If you need to work inside UX15 when the Toroid Magnetic field is ON, you
shall pass the ATLAS Magnet safety course
3) Personnel
dosimeter
The UX15 cavern, USA15 cavern and US15 cavern are supervised radiation
areas. To access these areas, you shall wear a personnel dosimeter.
4)
ATLAS Experimental areas work declaration
To be allowed to work in the Point 1 experimental areas UX15, US15, USA15
(except the counting rooms and the cryogenics/magnet control room), SGX1,
SX1 and SR1, all activities whether they concern infrastructure or the
ATLAS detectors, must have been declared in advance and approved the ATLAS
safety management.
5)
Work outside normal working hours underground (UX15
only)
If
work has to be performed outside normal working hours (normal
working hours are Mon - Fri, 6:00 am to 22:00 pm),
then you have to fill-in a request for work outside normal
working hours, and send it 48 hours in advance to the mail
distribution list “atlas-overtime-request-form”.
